Types of Skin Care Modalities and the results they yield.

It is important to note that there are no quick fixes or miracle cures.  Those that promise this are either lying or their treatments may come a some consequence.  One must have reasonable expectations, patience, and a great skin care regimen at home to support any treatment.  All modalities are progressive and cumulative.  They work extraordinary, they are safe, relaxing and rejuvenating. 

What is Galvanic Current=    Galvanic current skin care treatment is the process of using electrical currents to both cleanse the skin of impurities and infuse moisture into the deeper layers of the skin. Using tiny electrical currents, the skin first undergoes a deep pore cleansing known as dis-incrustation. The galvanic current device, set to a negative polarity, works in conjunction with a positively charged cleansing solution to create a chemical reaction in the skin. This chemical reaction liquefies the impurities in the skin and creates a soapy substance that helps to unclog pores and dissolve excess oil and other debris on the skin thus allowing the pores to breathe freely. Skin cells are living breathing organisms that need to be cared for and nourished to keep them healthy. If the cells are abused and neglected then the aging process is accelerated thus causing the skin to wrinkle and sag. Galvanic current skin care technology alone can make a substantial difference in the appearance and health of skin even after only a single treatment. Regular galvanic treatments combined with proper diet and less exposure to impurities caused by the sun, smoking, and stress, can take years off of your appearance and will help you skin tighten naturally giving your skin a youthful, healthy, and vibrant glow. In its positive setting, it will penetrate product into the skin, tighten pores, rejuvenate skin, promote oxygen, and much more.  Galvanic technology has been around for a very long time however to get this treatment required a spa visit and the treatment is administered by an esthetician.

What is Ultra Sound=    Ultrasound is safe, fast, and easy. Most importantly, it does not heat the skin or the tissues underneath it. Ultrasound will remove dead skin cells that block pores, but it will not damage living skin cells in the lower layers of the skin. The frequency used by ultrasound is about 10,000 times higher than the highest-pitched yodels. Very, very weak waves of sound massage the skin approximately 1,000,000 times a second. Each pulse is so weak that it cannot damage the proteins that interconnect and protect the skin. These tiny pulses, however, are enough to carry away some of the proteins that discolor the skin.  This modality can be used for pore tightening, deep cleanse, and penetration of products.  I use this modality during cleanse and during an enzyme treatment.

Contraindications:  Broken capillaries, braces or metal implants, epileptics.

What is Photo pulsation (LED) light therapy=   Light has long been know to have health benefits:  completely safe and holistic.  Revitalight® is a state-of-the-art instrument that uses LED pulse light to stimulate and regenerate skin cells and promote healing using specific light frequencies.  Lasers are well know for their ability to produce specific single light frequencies. But Lasers’ harmful side effects are also well known. Red LED Pulse Light Therapy
For the treatment of Rosacea, Anti-aging, Hyperpigmentation and Sun Damage
The recommended frequency of red LED light treatments is one-two 20 minute treatment every 7 to 10 days for 6 weeks.
Maintenance treatments are recommended every 30-60 days.

Blue LED Pulse Light Therapy
For the treatment of Acne contains anti bacterial agent and regulates sebum production.
Blue light treatment consists of three 20-minute treatments per week for two weeks.  
Then the treatments are cut back to two per week for 4 more weeks; Maintenance treatments are recommended every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on client’s UV exposure and lifestyle.

 As with any skin care procedure, clients need to be aware that there are no quick fixes or “miracle cures” with the Revitalight. What is Microdermabrasion=  This type of modality is a mechanical exfoliation that really yields results.  From minimizing fine lines to improving your pores, microdermabrasion provides many benefits. It is one of the three most commonly performed dermatology treatments in the United States, and its relatively low cost makes it a practical choice for clients with minor skin problems and early signs of aging.   Microdermabrasion sloughs off the dead and dull surface layers of the skin, stimulating an increase in collagen production and rejuvenation. Many patients see dramatic improvements in the tone, texture, and color of treated areas after just one treatment.

Contraindications:  Keloids and/or hypertrophic scarring and accutane.

What is High Frequency=  HF current is an alternating current called the "Tesla Current".  This current can produce a 60,000 to 200,000 Hertz frequency, depending on how it is regulated.  Treatment may involve placing the electrode directly on the skin or leaving a gap between the electrode and skin.  The electrodes are filled with a gas, either Argon or Neon.  Argon is used for acne-type lesions while neon is used on general oily-type skins or to create warmth in localized area for improved product penetration.  Both are anti bacterial, anti inflammatory, drying and germicidal.  The reaction between the electrode and skin surface produce and ozone formation which yield results.  HF increases blood flow which feeds the skin thus inducing production of collagen and elastin.  HF also stimulates blood lymphatic flow, heat in the tissue, sebaceous secretion and regulation, and has an overall relaxation effect.
